Well, after a year of intense planning bringing in the best
entertainment and prizes, it all boiled down to mother nature.
The forecast was "iffy" with a chance of rain in the afternoon.
When the show began, it was cloudy but dry and so we went
on as planned.  Well, by 10am it started raining lightly and it
did not stop until the show was over at 4pm.  Like a bad
joke, the rain stopped and the sun came out just as we were
giving away the last of the trophies.

However, thanks to the 85 registered cars that showed up we
were still able to have some fun and give away a Suburban
full of door prizes.   3M and Bondo brought their NASCAR simulator and in between rain showers
folks were able to try their hand at racing Rusty Wallace and the Petty's.  Martin from MGS
Performance Tune drove in from Toronto with his mobile dyno
tester but unfortunately the rain kept it under wraps for this
year.  The Loeb sponsored pancake breakfast with Timbits and
coffee got everybody off to a good start.

The stars of this years events were the trophies.  Terry and
Josh Prince designed and built some of the best trophies ever
seen at a carshow between here and the Detroit Auto Show.
With only 85 cars and 24
                                           plaques and trophies to
give away, everybody had a great chance at some hardware.

Although the weather was dreary, the over 125 door prizes we
gave away made almost everybody happy to have come out.
And the weather didn't dampen the spirits of the lovebirds
who participated in our "Kissing Contest". Martin Sound and
Lighting provided a sound system for our classic music mix
and allowed many of the participants to belt out their
favourite tunes in our "Carshow Idol" contests for a chance at
dinners at various sponsor restaurants. Union Auto parts and
Vic's Towing provided us with cars for our demolition contest which allowed folks to get out their
frustration with the weather.

Although the expected 300 plus cars did not show up due to the weather, the 85 that did helped
us raise over $1800 for Queensway Carleton Hospital and that is the ray of sunshine we always
have from our shows.  Thanks to all who helped and attended the show.  Without your
participation and input the show, would not go on,

Stay tuned for info on next years show.  We plan on having everything we had this year, but with
all the improvements we can add to make it even better.
