Another Great Year
Another Great Show
On Saturday July 30th, 2005 we held our 7th annual charity
car and truck show to benefit the Queensway Carleton
Hospital.  We had 229 cars register in by 11:00 am with other
cars coming and going throughout the day.  It was a beautiful
sunny day with almost no humidity which made it great for
sitting and showing off the gorgeous classic, custom, antique
and even new cars.

We had hundreds of prizes to give away and we could hardly
find enough time in the day to hand them all out.  Proctor
& Gamble came through with over 1500 Mr. Clean Magic
erasers and samples of Tide Cold Water which were given out to everyone who walked through the
show.   Everybody who attended walked away with a bag full of great stuff from Clorox, Spray Nine,
Mothers, Gunk and other companies that supported our efforts to raise money for charity.  We had
over 100 door prizes from Black Magic, WD40, Goodyear, Napa,
Turtle Wax, Mequiar's Mothers and Canadian Tire Corp.   The
day was filled with giveaways for all.  Our 50/50 contest raised
over $400.00 but our biggest prize was yet to be awarded.
At 4:30pm Mary Pitt and members of the Queensway Carleton
Hospital Foundation were on hand as we picked the winning
                                                 ticket for the
1965 Shelby Cobra that we had been selling
tickets for all year.  The winner unfortunately was not there
                                                 however, she was ecstatic
                                                 when she received the
                                                 news.  In all we raised
over $5000 on the day of the show to make our total raised
for the hospital in excess of $84,000.

For the third year,
Martin Sound on Colonnade Rd. provided
the sound system.  The
Brick also lent us big screen TV so
we could set up a movie theatre.

The day was a great success for the hospital and for us here
at Canadian Tire on Merivale Rd.

I want to thank all the volunteers from the store as well as from the community who helped setup,
take down and judge the show.  I want to thank those who helped with registration and ticket
selling.  Without the volunteers, this show could not go on.
