| And the Winner Is.. |
| WOW! The sound of an engine being pushed to its limit without the noise reducing help of an exhaust system is one of the greatest sounds. And we got to here it 6 times before we were sure we had the best results. After warming up the engine for a while we ran the first dyno test. After nearly popping out eardrums we had our first set of results. Peak horsepower 273 at 5500 rpm and peak torque of 280 ft-lbs at 3900. Not bad but not good enough. Jean Paul adjusted the timing and we ran it again. 287 HP at 5700 rpm and 290 ft-lbs at 4300 rpm. Now we're talking but still we want more. Another timing adjustment and we're screaming again. 292 HP at 5700 rpm and 287 ft-lbs of torque at 3900 rpm. Perfect. Imagine getting groceries in your 86 Crown Vic wagon with this engine. |
