| Over the last decade, I have been owned by three different people (Before that I am not yet sure how many people have had the pleasure to cruise with me). The first person had great plans to restore me to my original grandour but unfortunately passed away before he could get started. The next person was very mechanically proficient and began the restoration by rebuilding my 390 cu.in. V8 and 3 speed hydromatic transmission. My exhaust, generator, and brakes were all rebuilt or replaced. After completing that part, I was sold to my third owner in Moncton, New Brunswick. This older gentleman had my original black and white paint sanded off and replaced with a much more attractive red. As well, he had my interior redone in a matching red and white pattern. Once the paint was done, he realised that he had to rechrome my bumpers and trim which set him back almost $6000.00. After replacing the power window motors, radiator, wheel covers, tires, and many other small parts he was done. I now was ready to cruise Moncton. At this point it is 1997 and for the next six years I was used sparingly for weddings and car shows. My restoration began when I had travelled just under 50,000 miles. |
