2nd Annual Car Show
at Canadian Tire

July 1998
After a rainy start in our first annual show, we
had a turnout of about 30 cars.  This year, the
weather was perfect.  Sunny, dry, and not too hot.
The show was advertised in our local newspaper
and we distributed our flyers at all the local shows.
By 10am we had surpassed the 70 registered
cars and were on our way to over 120 cars in
attendance.  If you have ever been to our old store
at Clyde and Merivale Rds. in Nepean, you will realize
that this many cars was more than the lot was
designed to handle especially during business hours
for the store. But we made it work. Cars were parked
in the gas bar, oil change lot and in our staff parking.
Clubs like the Thousand Islands Zed club, Antique Classic Car Club of Canada, and the Electric Car
Council were in attendance as were some of Ottawa's best cars.  This year we c
ontinued the
tradition of raising money for the community during our show. This year we had a BBQ and a car
wash to help to help out the Boyscouts.  We had 3 peoples choice awards and a bunch of door

prizes.   Excalibur limousine helped out with the

prizes by donating a ride in a limousine.  To

promote th prize pack, they showed up with 2

streched limo's.   Outback Steakhouse made it a

night with a dinner for two.

First place went to a beautiful Black 69 Camaro,

second went to a 67 Firebird convertible and third

        went to

        one of

        Ottawa's

        finest

        classic
car enthusiasts and my inspiration, Mr. Stew Mould
and his 32 Ford Model B.
We had an amazing day enjoying the
weather and
spending time with hundreds of car enthusiasts and
their creations.  From here on out, a tradition of high
quality, well attended shows had
begun.
