The show that started it all
Aug 1997
It was 1997 and we were challenged to create some excitement at our local Canadian Tire Store.  Following our love of
cars, we decided to hold a car show and ask for donations for the Boy Scouts of Canada.  A group of volunteers b
egan to
hand out flyers and post signs at our store for our first annual show.  Fifty cars pre-registered for the show which was
held while the store was open.  Unfortunately, it rained until noon which reduced the turnout.  Slick 50 came with their
Ford model T and we also had a local Model T to compliment it.   In the ten years of shows since then,
we have yet to
have as many T's as
we did that day.  Although the turnout was low, it was a fun day and great learning experience.
This is where the idea for MC Fundraising was hatched.  With all these people getting together to show their cars and all
the spectators that come to see them, it is a perfect opportunity to raise charitable donations.
